What happens if I don’t repay a loan?

We understand that unexpected situations can arise. Here is exactly what happens if an installment is missed, so there are no surprises.

Penalties begin immediately

If an installment is not paid by its due date, penalties start accruing the next day. Penalties accrue for up to 30 days per missed installment.

Each installment is tracked independently. Missing one payment does not move or change the due dates of your other installments — those remain on the original schedule and will each become overdue if not paid.

What you will see in the app

The repayment screen will show your loan standing as "overdue." You will see the total penalties accrued across all overdue installments, alongside the original amount due for each.

You will also receive daily push notification reminders for each missed installment until it is resolved.

After 30 days

If an installment remains unpaid for 30 days, your access to new loans on Casia may be restricted and you may be placed on credit blacklists that affect your credit access more broadly. Unpaid debt may also lead to legal action.

How to resolve an overdue payment

To pay an overdue installment (including any penalties accrued), tap Repay in the app. The amount shown will include all penalties accrued up to that moment.

Transfer the amount to Casia's CVU from a bank account in your own name.

Once processed, the installment is marked as resolved and penalties stop accruing for it.

If you are having difficulty repaying

If you are struggling to make a payment, please reach out to us through the in-app chat as early as possible. Tap the help icon in the top-right corner of your loan screen, or go to Settings and tap Contact Support.
