How to delete your Casia account

Step-by-step instructions to delete your account, what gets removed, and what we are required to keep.

Updated today

You can delete your Casia account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This article explains how to request deletion, what data is removed, and what we are required to keep.

Option 1: Delete from inside the app

The fastest way to delete your account is directly from the app:

  • Open Settings (the gear icon in the top-left corner of the home screen).

  • Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.

  • Confirm the action. Your account will be permanently deleted and you will be signed out.

If you have an outstanding loan balance, you will be prompted to resolve it before we can close the account.

Option 2: Email support

If you cannot access the app, email us from the email or phone number associated with your account:

Include the phrase "Delete my account" in the subject line. We will confirm your identity, explain any outstanding balance that must be resolved before closure, and then proceed with the deletion.

How long it takes

  • In-app deletion: immediate.

  • Email request: we acknowledge within 72 hours and complete deletion within 30 days of identity verification.

What is deleted

When we process your request, the following data is permanently removed from our active systems:

  • Your profile information (name, phone number, email).

  • References to the smart wallet created for your account.

  • Loan application preferences and in-app activity history.

  • Device identifiers and push notification tokens.

  • Support conversation history that is not required for regulatory reasons.

What we are required to keep

Because Casia operates as a consumer credit service, Argentine financial and anti-money-laundering regulations require us to retain certain records even after an account is closed. These include:

  • Identity verification documents and selfie (KYC).

  • Loan agreements, disbursements, and repayment history.

  • Transaction records and related compliance evidence.

These records are retained for the period required by applicable law (typically five to ten years after account closure, depending on the specific obligation). During that time they are stored encrypted, access-restricted, and used only to meet legal and regulatory obligations - not for product analytics, marketing, or profiling.

About onchain records

Casia loans are represented on a public blockchain. We can delete your personal data from our systems, but blockchain transactions themselves are immutable and cannot be removed. Those transactions do not contain your name, phone number, or other directly identifying personal data - they contain wallet addresses and loan amounts. Once we delete the link between your identity and your wallet, the public chain entries can no longer be tied back to you through Casia.
